They say it takes a village to raise a child. At Red Apple, we are your village! We believe in providing your child with a positive and nurturing environment so they can enjoy the best start in life.
Our experienced team is highly passionate about caring for children, and it shows. Like many centres, we operate within the National Quality Standards but there are a few areas that truly set us apart.
1. Happy, settled children
We care about our people on a very personal level, whether it’s our children or our staff. We are all part of a big family. For example, our parents always know the educators they are dropping their children off to in the morning. And our educators in turn, know the children.
We prioritise the wellbeing of our educators – they love their work and and this positive energy flows on to the children. We have a very low staff turnover rate and a relaxed environment, all of which we believe, leads to happier and more settled children.
2. Flexible orientation programs
Whether you’re sending your child in for the first time or moving them to a new room, we say, ‘Take as long as you like.’ Every child is different and may need different amounts of time to transition.
Our policy is to listen to parents. With the Storypark app, you will be able to access videos and updates on how your child is doing in real-time. We welcome feedback and will work closely with you to ensure your child quickly adapts as quickly as possible.
3. Bush kinder program
Children learn through play. It allows them to use their imaginations, solve problems and make decisions. At Red Apple, we are very proud of our bush kinder program, which gives children the opportunity to explore, learn and play in a natural environment.
Growing evidence shows that outdoor play is beneficial to children and contributes to improving their health and wellbeing. It teaches them to respect animals, insects and nature, and understand their importance in protecting the planet.
4. Healthy food that’s delicious too
We take great pride in providing our children with a healthy, wholesome menu with no refined sugar. Our food is cooked fresh by highly experienced cooks each day. All allergies and food preferences are taken into account, and no nuts or eggs are used in our cooking. Every day, samples are left at the entrance – so parents can also get a taste of our food if they wish!
5. Local community involvement
We love getting our children involved in the local community as we believe that knowing about the community is all part of learning. We visit the shops, local parks, and a variety of community places such as aged care centres, fire stations and libraries.
6. Celebrating all cultures
The Red Apple family is a rich and vibrant blend of cultures. We love celebrating special festivals of every culture, including Easter, Diwali, Chinese New Year, Eid, Mid Autumn Festival, Halloween and Christmas. We expose children to these festivals and celebrate them through cooking, dress-ups, home corner setups, songs, dancing, incursions and excursions.
